The feature article in this quarter’s Blueprints delves into several issues and developments on the horizon for 2018, including food safety, immigration and labor, NAFTA, and the Farm Bill. Where can you turn for assistance on challenges like these that might affect your business? Members can head to Blue Book Online Services (BBOS) and use the company search function to find “supply” companies.

Supply companies in BBOS are businesses that are not buying or selling produce but providing a service or supplies to the industry.

This includes attorneys, management or marketing consultants, and trade associations, all of which can assist you in navigating the many topics noted in the feature article.

In BBOS, click on “Search Companies.” Next, choose the radio button for “Supply” next to the “Industry Type” label. Click on the search heading for “Classification” and choose the types of companies you’re interested in. Then, add any other search criteria like location or zip code, and click search. A list of companies offering the services you seek will be displayed for download or printing. You can perform a similar search for things like bags, cartons, pallets, computer services, machinery, and more by searching supply listings.
