With California projected to harvest its second smallest avocado crop in the last 40 years, only West Coast buyers may be able to have California fruit to sell this year.

Lime prices from Mexico have risen in the past few weeks, and suppliers say they could double by Easter, in two months.

Potatoes, onions, lettuce, grapes and salad mix are among more than a dozen grocery staples Wegmans Food Markets is offering with lower prices following the government shutdown. The price cuts, announced Feb. 16, last through March 2 – when the next round of SNAP funds are expected to start releasing to recipients.
