On July 30, Blue Book Services reported NewStar Fresh Foods LLC BB #:157310 as 113, indicating the company had “suspended operations; with obligations not fully liquidated.”
The company’s phones are disconnected and NewStar’s website is shut down.
Attempts to reach Anthony Vasquez, owner and CEO, have been unsuccessful.
The company failed to renew its PACA license in April, and there is one pending lawsuit.
NewStar was established in November 1997 following the merger of two companies and was known for growing and shipping vegetables, including green onions, broccoli, kale and asparagus.
