On the Road: ShopRite, Wyckoff, NJ

WYCKOFF, NJ – Here’s yet another stop on an epic journey from Newark to Poughkeepsie that’s been hiding on my computer. I stopped at this ShopRite at the recommendation of another serial store checker, and I’m glad they suggested it.

It had been open just over 9 months — long enough to settle down and not have that “we just opened, so let’s have all the crazy stuff like huge displays of Buddah’s hand” kind of merchandising going on.

Going to a brand new store gives you a skewed view of how the store will actually operate when it’s in day-to-day business mode

As much as we’d all like to maintain those types of displays, we’re not fooling anyone, right?

I digress. This was a great example of ShopRite, especially the company’s in-store dietitian program. Signage was everywhere, and I liked how they talked about their program in an approachable, not preachy, kind of way.
