Roger Pepperl retires as marketing director at Stemilt Growers BB #:113654 at the end of the year.
In addition to his job selling fresh produce first in retail and then in the Northwest, he’s been a champion of raising produce consumption his whole career.
He served several times over the years as a volunteer leader at the Produce for Better Health Foundation, BB #:157162 whose goal is to raise consumption.
He joined me for a discussion about what the industry can do on this critical effort.

Pepperl said PBH’s “Have A Plant” is a good message to build on, but everyone in the supply chain can raise consumption by keeping fruit and vegetable quality and taste as high as it can be for consumers.
“We need things to taste really good,” he said. “If it tastes good, I’m going to eat a lot of it.”
