In its latest list of America’s Top 500 Large Employers, Forbes picked a slew of grocers, with San Antonio-based H-E-B taking the No. 5 spot.
The list is put together using a survey of 45,000 Americans working for businesses with more than 5,000 employees by market research firm Statista.
“All questionnaires were conducted anonymously, allowing participants to openly share their opinions,” according to Forbes.
Respondents rated their employers on a scale of 0 to 10, and were asked to nominate companies other than their own.
The final list ranks the 500 employers receiving the most recommendations.
“It’s an honor to know that our associates enjoy working at Publix and would recommend us to their friends and family,” said Maria Brous, director of communications at Publix Super Markets, which ranked No. 82 on the list. “For more than 90 years, our associates have shared our culture and driven our success. We’re proud of their contributions and remain committed to investing in them.”
