Asparagus, mangos, blueberries lead Peruvian exports

In the first two months of 2023, Peruvian exports by air reached 14,502 tons, reflecting a contraction of 2.1 percent compared to the volume shipped in the same period of the previous year, according to the Foreign Trade Society of Peru (ComexPerú), reported by Agraria.

In January and February, air shipments of asparagus, mangoes and blueberries amounted to 10,688 tons, which represented 73.7 percent of total Peruvian exports by this route.

ComexPerú explained that in the first two months of this year, exports of fresh or refrigerated asparagus amounted to 5,502 tons (increase of 20.5 percent), shipments of fresh or dried mangoes totaled 4,746 tons (decrease of 9.8 percent), and shipments of blueberries fresh reached 437 tons (increase of 79.8 percent).

Regarding only February, Peruvian shipments by air amounted to 5,807 tons, registering a decrease of 6.6 percent compared to what was exported in the same month of the previous year.

Fresh or dried mangoes, fresh or refrigerated asparagus, and fresh blueberries were also the most exported products this month, concentrating 65 percent of the total. Of the first product, 2,204 tons (decrease of 9.2 percent) were exported; of the second there were 1,336 tons (increase of 10.4 percent); while of the latter, 245 tons (increase of 150.6 percent) were exported, respectively.
