In May 2024, Peru’s avocado exports totaled 95,503 tons for $187.2 million, showing a 25 percent drop in volume, but 3 percent growth in value compared to May 2023, according to Agraria.

Regarding the price, in the analyzed month of this year it registered a growth of 38 percent, trading at $1.96 per kilogram, which compensated for the drop in volume.
Peru exported to 37 destinations, one more than in 2023, with the Netherlands being the most relevant with purchases for $52.6 million (27,147 tons at an average price of $1.94 per kilogram) and a share of 28.1 percent.
Spain (17.2 percent) ranked second, with purchases worth $32.2 million (17,201 tons at an average price of $1.87 per kilogram).
The U.S. closed the podium (16.5 percent) with purchases for $30.9 million (14,280 tons at an average price of $2.17 per kilogram).
The preferred type was fresh (95.7 percent of shipments), with 92,248 tons valued at $179.1 million.
The main exporters were Avocado Packing Company S.A.C. (7.9 percent of total exports), Camposol S.A. (7.6 percent), Westfalia Fruit Perú S.A. (6.3 percent), Corporación Agrolatina S.A.C. (5.1 percent), and Agrícola Cerro Prieto S.A. (2.8 percent).
