President Trump to announce tariff details

President Trump plans to hold a press conference today, April 2, at 4 pm Eastern, on his tariff plans.

The White House announced the new tariffs will take effect immediately. While the details remain unknown, a potential result is a 20 percent universal tariff on most imports or a reciprocal tariff plan applied differently to countries depending on their tariff and non-tariff barriers.

Trump called today “Liberation Day” for U.S. trade policy on social media.

No details have been released regarding fresh produce.
