You want fries a bag of potatoes with that?

Starting February 2, participating Burger King locations in France are giving away a complimentary 1kg bag of fresh potatoes with drive-through orders to help raise awareness of the plight of potato farmers facing reduced demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a translation, the company is giving away 200 tons of potatoes in the promotion.

“It’s no mystery at the moment the restaurant industry is not in the best of shape. And when this sector is affected, it is also thousands of farmers who cannot sell their stocks. This is why we wanted to act ad help them by buying more than 200 tons of potatoes and offering them to you.”
