A new Canadian law requires all travelers entering Canada, including truck drivers, to wear a non-medical mask or face covering.

However, Shannon Sommerauer, director of government relations for the Canadian Produce Marketing Association, BB #:153602 said drivers without masks will be provided one, so it should not delay commercial shipments.

The law says all travelers arriving in Canada will be required to wear the masks to their destination.

The April 15 law also requires any traveler arriving in Canada to isolate or quarantine if they would be in contact with people who are vulnerable (over 65 or pre-existing conditions) even if they are asymptomatic for COVID-19.

Again, Sommerauer said this shouldn’t affect commercial shipments, as drivers are considered essential workers who are exempt from the rule.
