From the Canadian Produce Marketing Association BB #:153602:

We wanted to update members regarding the Public Health Agency of Canada’s (PHAC) public health notices (PHN) of November 12, 29 and December 9th linking fresh fruits and vegetables, and then fresh avocados, to an ongoing Salmonella outbreak in western Canada.

Upon further investigation, PHAC and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), have determined that fresh avocados are not the source of the outbreak and have confirmed frozen corn products as the source.

Further information can be located at the following links:
PHAC Dec 21 – Public Health Notices
CFIA Dec 19 – Food Recall Warning – Alasko brand IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) whole kernel corn recalled due to Salmonella
PHAC Dec 9 – Public Health Notice: Outbreak of Salmonella infections
