Multiple benefits paired with a strong economy translate into big business for Chicago suppliers. The vast majority of companies on and off the CIPM maintain a positive outlook on the current state of business, regardless of what comes to pass here and there.
“It’s been a nice year, nice and steady, good markets,” said T.J. Fleming, director of sales with Strube Celery & Vegetable Company, BB #:102030 the oldest tenant on the CIPM. “We topped 2017, so it’s been a really good year. Overall, I’ve got no complaints.”
Ron Pomerantz, president of Benny’s Farm Fresh Distributing Company BB #:154155 in the suburb of Wilmette, reflects the same sentiment. “Things are going well. We’re dealing directly with a number of Mexican growers this year, more so than last. So, everybody is busy.”
Brian Holzkopf, senior procurement specialist for Ruby Robinson Company, Inc., BB #:102013 said business has also been good for Ruby Robinson Company, adding, “We are blessed to have continual growth over last year.”
“Business is good and steady, and we’re up a little bit from last year,” said Vince Gregosanc Jr., buyer at Battaglia Distributing Company, Inc., BB #:125850 a produce supplier and foodservice company located a couple of miles off the market.
