The deadline to submit comments to the Produce Safety Rule draft guidance is April 22.

Officially called the “Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing, and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption,” when finalized, the draft guidance will provide the Food and Drug Administration’s thinking and recommendations to help covered farms comply with the final regulation called the “Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing, and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption.”

Dubbed the Produce Safety Rule, it will establish science-based minimum standards for the safe growing, harvesting, packing, and holding of produce grown for human consumption.
