We refer to the Blue Book’s Trading and Transportation Guidelines on a regular basis.  For instance, maybe a truck is late, and we want to know what industry standards are before we start pointing fingers.  We want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

About RPE,
LLC. (#105471):

PO Box 330, Bancroft, WI, 54921-0330, USA
Established 1971

Chuck Curl, Director, Regulatory, Risk & Compliance, knows about building relationships and managing risk.  As a large-scale grower, shipper, and broker of potatoes and onions, his company has relied on Blue Book Services to professionally resolve disputes with customers, suppliers, and transportation companies. “Blue Book helps us resolve trading and transportation disputes in a professional industry-knowledgeable manner,” Chuck explains. “I would say that when you are working with perishables, handling disputes professionally not only helps resolve disputes, but it helps build relationships.  Most everyone can be reasonable when things are going well, but how about when there is a problem?  That’s where firms that abide by industry standards can build trust.”

Chuck has referred to Blue Book’s Trading and Transportation Guidelines for years to help assess disputes involving the supply and transportation of perishable commodities.  “We refer to the Blue Book’s Trading and Transportation Guidelines on a regular basis.  For instance, maybe a truck is late, and we want to know what industry standards are before we start pointing fingers.  We want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.”

RPE also occasionally uses Blue Book’s collection services when an account becomes past due.  “We are pretty careful on the front-end of transactions.  We check their Blue Book rating, their Score, their Claims Activity Table, so we usually vet our customers really well.  But on those occasions where we run into a slow-pay or no-pay customer, we’ve had great results with Blue Book’s collection services.  When claims are filed with Blue Book, debtors respond to that.  Nobody wants their Blue Book credit profile affected with a report of unpaid invoices.”

Chuck counts himself as a loyal and enthusiastic Blue Book subscriber.   “Honestly, there’s a lot of data and technology out there where I question its value.  But Blue Book, to me, is an invaluable resource—we rely on it every day.”
