Grant J. Hunt Company welcomes industry veteran

PRESS RELEASE Produce industry veteran and former Tocchini & Tocchini Inc. BB #:115265 partner Rod Wyman has joined the Grant J. Hunt Company BB #:114014 team at the company’s headquarters in Oakland, CA.

Wyman joined Tocchini & Tocchini 32 years ago, and became a partner in 2006. Tocchini & Tocchini were a fresh produce broker/distributor based in the San Francisco bay area, specializing in potatoes and melons.

“We had a terrific run at Tocchini & Tocchini. My business partner Bob Tocchini, who has a true love for produce decided it just might be time to retire at the age of 77. I’ve known and worked with the Grant J. Hunt Company for decades and there was an opportunity to join their dynamic team and I jumped at it,” said Wyman.

Wyman’s core focus will be on potatoes and onions from California and the Pacific Northwest as well as melons seasonally from California, Arizona, Mexico and Central America.

Hunt Company’s general manager Sal Rizzo. “We’ve known him for decades and have always had a great deal of respect and admiration for his relationships with the shippers they represented and his customer base. He brings a lot of experience and enthusiasm to our team.”

The Grant J. Hunt Company started business in 1934 and is a well known distributor of a myriad of fresh produce items including apples, pears, cherries, potatoes, onions, berries, citrus, kiwifruit and melons. They provide fresh produce throughout North America to retailers and wholesalers, with their core business being on the West coast. They are active in several produce associations and their marketing director, Eric Patrick is currently the chair of PMA’s Membership Engagement Committee. Their headquarters is in Oakland, CA and they have additional offices in Yakima, WA and Seattle, WA.
