TAMPA, FL–This store is an example of what Sprouts is NOT going to do going forward.

It’s one of the largest Sprouts Farmers Market stores I’ve seen, with a huge deli, salad bar and seating area that started appearing in stores in 2017 and 2018. The company’s new CEO, Jack Sinclair, recently said it plans to focus on smaller box size stores, with a stronger emphasis on the company’s signature farmers market-like produce merchandising.

The store is one of the company’s newer locations, and fits into its strategy for growth in the Southeast U.S. While there wasn’t a ton of local produce highlighted, I did find Florida grapefruit and tomatoes marked as USA-grown.
