Peru exported 232,683 tons of fresh mango in the 2020-2021 campaign, with the Netherlands, the U.S., and France as the main destinations, as reported by Agraria.

Piura, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, Lima provinces, Ica, and Ancash are the most producing regions.

Peru passed Vietnam to climb into fourth in global fresh mango exports, trailing Thailand at No.1, Mexico at No.2 and the Netherlands at No.3.

The varieties grown are Kent, Haden, Edward, Tommy Atkins, and Keitt, which are characterized by their large size and weight, as well as their reddish-yellow and orange-yellow color.

Being one of the most nutritious fruits, mangos are considered a superfood, rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fiber that strengthen immune systems.
