Peru’s mango production increased by 500% in January 2025

Mango production in Peru reached 196,297 tons in January 2025, reflecting a 532 percent increase compared to the same month last year.

Mango production in Peru reached 196,297 tons in January 2025, reflecting a 532 percent increase compared to the same month last year, according to Agraria, citing figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).

In the first month of the year, the main mango-producing regions in Peru were Lambayeque and Piura, together accounting for 93 percent of the total production. Furthermore, they showed growth of 727 and 725 percent, respectively, compared to January 2024.

Likewise, mango production increased in Tumbes (+617 percent), Arequipa (+268 percent), Áncash (+179 percent), Ica (+145 percent), San Martín (+80 percent), Apurímac (+65 percent), and Cajamarca (+27 percent), among the main regions. However, it decreased in Pasco (-52.7 percent), Ayacucho (-39.6 percent), Amazonas (-31 percent), and Moquegua (-12.3 percent).
