Two weeks after failing to return from a fishing trip, search and rescue crews believe they have discovered the remains of Stéphane Roy and his 14-year-old son Justin.

Roy, founder and owner of Les Serres Sagami Inc., Sainte-Sophie, Québec, were expected to return on July 10 in a helicopter piloted by Roy.

According to news reports, the remains and a downed helicopter were spotted near Lac Valtrie.

“Everything leads us to believe that the two people inside the aircraft are Stephane Roy and his son,” Sûreté du Québec (Quebec’s provincial police) said in a tweet. “A formal identification will follow.”

The Facebook page established for the search and rescue efforts changed its profile to black, with condolence messages pouring in, and the Savoura website went down due to traffic.

Blue Book Services extends heartfelt condolences to the Roy family, and everyone at Les Serres Sagami.
