My good friend George Szczepanski asked me to join him recently for a chat about bananas on his side project, Prodcast from the Produce Aisle.

If you haven’t caught the Prodcast before, you should. George has a passion for fresh produce rooted in a deep family history, and is just fun to chat with.

In this episode, George and I revisit a topic I’ve been considering over the past few years: Will Millennials Kill Bananas? Retailers continue to hold on to the idea that they need to be the cheapest guy on the block when it comes to bananas, because that price point is a key factor for price perception in the marketplace.

Is that the way to market to a Millennial?

Or is that the way to market to a Millennial’s grandma?
