Mansfield, MA-based Roche Bros. Supermarkets Inc. BB #:167723 sold a majority stake of its ownership to its supplier, Cheshire, CT-based Bozzuto’s Inc. BB #:100723.
The MetroWest Daily news reported the sale comes with the chain’s ownership group’s planned retirement.
“This decision was made thoughtfully with our team, our customers, and our shared values as our guiding priorities,” co-owners Caitlin, Ed, and Rick Roche said, in a statement. “After many wonderful years as a family-owned business, this partnership will allow us to reinforce our stability, ensure quality, and continue our positive impact in the community.”
Roche Bros. operates 20 stores under the Roche Bros., Sudbury Farms, and Brothers Marketplace banners.
Roche Bros. said in a social media post the sale means “no changes in day-to-day operations,” and the company will have the “same leadership and commitment to quality.”
“Michael Bozzuto shares our passion for serving the community and supporting our associates,” a Roche Bros. statement said. “We are grateful for this partnership, which we believe honors our legacy while bringing exciting opportunities for growth.”
