ORLANDO, FL — After browsing the trade show floor at the International Fresh Produce Association’s Global Produce & Floral Show on October 28 and 29, it felt like I’d seen two to three years’ worth of new product innovations.

Indoor farm products were probably the most plentiful category, from personal-size melons to strawberries and salad kits, in addition to the traditional cucumbers, tomatoes, and bell peppers.

Flavor factored prominently in innovations, especially in the new Conscious Foods gene-edited salad mix branded Conscious Greens. I just put a video about it up on TikTok, and wonder what the general public reception will be.

Would you try gene-edited greens? Conscious Foods is launching its first packaged salad blends — branded Conscious Greens, in the US in 2023 using CRISPR technology to enhance flavor, add higher nutrient density and lower bitterness. Also in development are pitless cherries, seedless blackberries, and black raspberries. #geneediting #freshproduce #agtech #gpfs2022
