Being back in-person at a trade show means I get a chance to see new products up close, and often take them home with me. Viva Fresh is one of my favorites because I can load up with all the newest innovations and drive home to share them with friends and family.
I picked up a bag of the new Wicked Sweet red onions from Owyhee Produce at Viva Fresh in late March. What’s fun about these onions is that Owyhee has its own video of kids eating them like an onion to prove that they’re not too spicy to enjoy raw.
Of COURSE that means I have to inflict this on my own kids, who are 12 an 7. My older son, Ike, loves onions so this is not a hardship. My little, Uli, does NOT like onions, so he took a little more convincing.
The boys and I once did an onion challenge with Sunions, the storage onion that doesn’t make you cry (and it didn’t).
So, do these onions bite?
