Value-added products continue to sell at a fevered pitch in New York as consumers look for convenience.

S. Katzman Produce Inc. has followed the soaring popularity of the category and decided to jump in with its own product. In the superfood subset of value-added products, Katzman introduced its own brand of pomegranate arils called BloomFresh.

Stefanie Katzman, executive manager for fourth generation Katzman, says the arils are packed in a “grab-and-go cup with a spoon included under the lid” for ultimate convenience, so consumers can “enjoy this healthy and delicious fruit with no hard work or mess involved.”

The fruit is imported from India, where pomegranates are grown all year. Having witnessed “tremendous growth in this pack over the last few years,” Katzman says the company will continue to develop new products to capitalize on this particular fruit’s surging demand.
